December get away with a handsome man!

The first weekend of December me and my handsome hubs got a two night get away to Nashville. The trip was scheduled to coordinate with his company's Christmas dinner that they sent us on which was Christmas lunch on the General Jackson to enjoy dinner and the show. It was cold cold cold that weekend and we nearly didn't get to go because a nasty winter storm came in. But we were able to go and enjoy the weekend together.

Special thanks to Aunt Jan and Uncle Derek and family for keeping the kids for us that weekend. They had a ball and it made it easier for me to enjoy my weekend with Ricky by knowing the kids were happy and having fun too! They do get spoiled there and even tho Uncle Derek chickened out on taking Caleb duck hunting on the ice (LOL) they blast!

Our general jackson lunch cruise
During our weekend we got nearly all of our Christmas shopping done. Which was so nice to get done. Plus I liked having Ricky along to help buying for the kiddos.

Downtown just browsing ( we took these pics to send to the kids)
Getting ready for the concert at Bridgestone
In the words of Buzz Lightyear-You are a strange, sad little man, and your wife has my pity!

We spent most of the first day after the lunch cruise shopping and eating lol. Then the second day we went downtown and met friends for lunch. And then the four of us all went to a concert!

Ricky had gotten us Transiberian Orchestra concert tickets. This was my first concert ever. It was neat, however neither of us realized that they are a rock band so it got a little loud and it was really long. I do not sit well for long periods of time and after over 3 hours I was about to crawl the walls. But it was pretty good and now I can say I have been to a concert.

The lighting effects were extraordinary and they included some beautiful Christmas songs like oh come all ye faithful (which was the best I have ever heard!)
It was a really good get away for us and we said it should be required for all parents to do this atleast once a year. It was so nice to just get some time to ourselves and talk, laugh and share things. And then it was nice to come home to our babies :)
