Derby Racers

This year Caleb and Ricky got to participate in our church's Royal Ambassador's (RA's) annual Derby Car build and race. Let me tell you how much Caleb loved this project! Our boy loves nothing more than to build a track or race something :)  So obviously this was going to be fun for him.

The boys spent a couple weeks perfecting Caleb's car. Ricky's car got built in a little shorter time frame.
On race day Caleb was over the moon excited! He had talked about little else for days before and he nearly drove us crazy before it was time to go and race.

And when the official time came in after his car made its first run down the track, Caleb was super pumped. After all his runs down the track were in he came away with the third place trophy.
We were all so happy for him. He was so excited to race, and then to get a trophy and third place? Well, it was everything he had been thinking about for weeks.
It makes me so thankful to see Caleb and his Daddy working together on projects like this. This Dad and son project will be hard to top. The RA's class with the derby car race is a program that is awesome for little guys and their dads to work on together. If you have a little boy and your town has an RA program, I highly recommend it!
