Goodbye Tonsils

January 2017 saw Caleb again hit with Strep throat and sickness over and over again. Seems like this is a trend for him. After waiting for over a year we finally decided to bite the bullet and have his tonsils and adenoids removed. He was so ready. He was tired of being sick on his birthday (3rd year in a row) and he was ready to have this mess behind him.

Pre-surgery consult

I was a pretty nervous Momma the night before surgery. Spent a lot of time going between praying for his safety and health and worrying like a wild woman.

The morning of surgery we got up bright and early. ...technically it was dark and early LOL! Up before the sun. We had to be in Nashville by 6 so we hit the road and Caleb was all smiles.

After surgery, his time in recovery was really rough. He had a lot of confusion, pain and trouble waking up. But, after a few hours they got him settled down enough to release us.

The first day home was really pretty good, but after that he went through 7 days where each day was worse than the day before. And Momma and Daddy started to get worried about our boy.

This picture hurts me to even look at. This was 6 days post surgery and he was grey, listless and so small and thin and pitiful. Breaks my heart. Thankfully after this he took a turn for the better and started recuperating.

Caleb had lots of prayers and got gifts, calls, letters and  encouragement from our church, friends and family

Happy days are here again! He has regained the 5 pounds he lost during and after surgery and even added an extra and finally hit 50 pounds!!!! He has been trying to get that for 18 months and never could. Hoping this surgery will help him to stay healthier from now on. So thankful this part is behind us tho!
