Awards and Programs - Laney

Laney ended 4th grade with a busy few weeks. On awards day she received a Reading Award and Science Award. She was all smiles while her Mimi, Caleb and I watched.

This smart gal also has a heart of gold. This year when the Literacy Council had the students write a book of their choosing, Laney wrote a book about the life of her late great-grandmother and dedicated to her newest cousin. Her book, "Mamie", was written over several months and she really worked hard on it.

All that hard work paid off when we were invited to the Literacy Banquet. Laney's book was chosen as the second place winner out of the county. She received a medal and we were soooo proud!

After the dinner Laney couldn't wait to take the book and give to her cousin. I hope little Mamie will love the book when she gets old enough to realize what it means.

Spring has been busy. This girl has been working since January practicing lines for the spring children's program at church. She had a big part and when the big performance day came, she did so good. I would have been a bucket of nerves, but she didn't seem nervous at all.

Really glad that she is trying out all different areas and finding what she likes and is good at.
Also really glad that summer break is here and our activities are slowing down!!  :)
