This year is the first year that we have taken the kids out on the boat. Laney is 5 and Caleb is 3 and it still makes me really nervous but we decided it was time. They have been out on their Aunts and Uncles boats several times but this was a first on our smaller boat.
This first trip was fun and a half! The kids both understood all the boat rules and did really well. We spent about 4 hours on the water and never once did I get nervous that someone would magically fly overboard. (because I am one of those really protective, kinda bordering on crazy Moms).
Ricky surprised us all with lunch on the river at a marina just a few miles from where we launched the boat. It was the perfect lunch spot to just pull the boat up and walk across the dock to eat.

| I was so glad Ricky's i-phone takes decent pictures since I didn't bring it to the marina...Caleb found this hiding spot |
 |
| Laney's attempt at getting our picture...well, A for effort. lol |
We chose to eat outside and were glad that we did. All around the marina were fish along with 3 big turtles. This kept the kids occupied while we ordered and waited on our food and they were so excited when they got to feed the fish and turtles.

| The scene all around us while we had lunch |

| Little shark boy ( he loves everything to do with sharks!) |
After we rode around the river for awhile we took the kids into a small cove and went swimming. Laney cried at first and we had to bring her back in the boat.
 |
| "I've got you" |
But it didn't take her long to change her mind. She jumped in with her Daddy and loved it. We couldn't get her out of the water when it was time to go. After a short "I don't like this" swim, little Caleb decided the water was too cold for his taste so he stayed in the boat. He enjoyed riding the river so much, though, and got so quiet and still that he ended up falling asleep in my lap for an hour.

| Ricky said all the sun was going to ruin his farmers tan he has been working so hard on. :) |
This was a great family day and we will for sure be doing this alot more this summer!!!
