A little family trip

The last weekend of July our family took a little trip and drove down to Memphis for a little over night get away. We surprised the kids and decided to get a room in a motel at Wolfchase that night. We got there on the late side, but the kids thought it was the best thing. Afterall, jumping on a bed other than yours is ever so much fun :)

Our room was very comfy.

Me, Laney and LaLa

We attmepted a photo of us. But, someone was acting up and ended up  Mom got her hair pulled...which she hates!!

We crashed as soon as we got in and just hung out, watched TV and spent the evening talking. The kids snuggled up with their stuffed animals they brought and weren't too long in going to sleep.

Sweet picture of some sleepy kids
And yes, your welcome for this next photo .....

Boy must have needed his beauty sleep...
We were all pretty tired and slept in the next morning. Then we got up, had breakfast and went to look at side by sides around Memphis. By mid-morning we were all done and headed over to visit with my grandparents. We had a great time there and I was so excited because she had made her fabulous chicken and dumplings for us. My Memaw makes the best chicken and dumpling ever. All of us cousins like to rub it in when we get lucky enough to have some. So I took this photo of myself to make my cousin, Amy, jealous :) She loves Memaw's dumplins almost as much as I do.

Haters gonna hate! Be jealous!

After visiting thru the afternoon we then packed up and got to squeeze in a short visit with Katie and family. I had some hand me down clothes from Laney that her girls were able to fit, so we sat down and went thru all those while the kids got their energy out in the backyard. (My kids now want a zipline in our back yard "like Allie has!" - good luck!)

We got home late that Saturday evening and were pretty give out but so glad we got to go and visit our family and squeeze in a little overnight getaway before school started back.
