It seems crazy that we already have had our first snow of the year in November but yes we did. Two little kids were ever so ecstatic to wake up to the little dusting we got. Within 5 minutes of waking up the two appeared in my kitchen dressed from head to toe in snow gear ready to get their play on.
Caleb has been having his annual pulmonary problems so I sternly told him "Only five minutes" outside in the cold air. He gladly accepted my offer and out the two bounded with high expectations.
Less than two minutes later I heard a scratching at the back door. He made it two whole minutes. He is like his Momma - doesn't find much joy in the cold.
"Is the fireplace on?" he wanted to know. "Will you make me hot chocolate?"
Both of his requests were quickly fulfilled and he was warmed up in no time. Laney on the other hand braved the cold for a good half hour. Finally I looked out and caught her making 'snow' angels in the mud and ordered her in. Her entire back half was completely muddy. Good thing school was delayed two hours so we had time to get her cleaned back up.
Isn't snow just so much fun? We won't ask anyone from Buffalo to respond to that at the moment - so sorry. But here in the south our occasional dustings and rare few inches just makes for snow being an exciting thing for my kids and even their parents! Now they are hoping for 2 feet ...to which I say, no thank you.
