All this to say he is pretty detailed. Well, a couple months back Aunt April and Reed T sent us a box. Inside each of the kids had a "surprise". Caleb's was a "Hatch Ems" egg. It needed to soak in water for awhile before you could see what was inside.
He set up an entire lab in my kitchen and documented progress of the egg hatching daily. He took pictures, made a chart to check off steps of the hatching phase...yes, a bit over the top. Ha~!
Well, at last the day came and the turtle egg hatched to reveal a small little foamy turtle toy. He was ecstatic.
He named his turtle spotty and insisted we make the toy turtle a habitat in a bowl. I went with it.
We are still not sure what happened but we did find a bit of glitter around the bowl so we think there was some suspicious activity involved.
Spotty now resides in an aquarium tank and I have become quiet the turtle Mom.
And now? Well now we are hatching out and growing a herd of sea monkeys. Complete with signs and labs and instructions :)
