Spring Break 2016

Spring break this year was going to be pretty basic. The kids had a week out of school but we had nothing planned special due to busy work schedules. But at the last minute me and my sister were able to put together a quick trip to surprise our Momma. A few days with both her girls and all her grandbabies. Thankfully our spring breaks both fell on the same week. This may have to end up being a yearly trip - if our breaks continue to match up.

But let me back up. We kicked off spring break with a day adventure with Mimi and Pops. We headed down to Poppas farm for a day of picnicking and exploring.
We had a picnic lunch with a view that couldn't be beat. It was a beautiful day!

After we had our bellies full, Poppa and Caleb worked on setting up a turkey blind while us girls took off exploring. It was a little chilly out but that did not stop Laney from barreling barefoot into the creek.

Loving the little things

Picture perfect - Laney and her Mims - how she adores her

Me and my Momma - I adore her too!
Laney, Mimi and I are three girls who all love the outdoors. It was such a fun afternoon getting to get outside and get our fill of sunshine. I was so ready for it after the grey days of the last few months.

Onto the rest of spring break. Mid week, we picked up Mimi and the four of us headed to Chattanooga for a few days. Here we met up with Aunt April, Bonnie and Reed Thomas for some fun cousin time!

We took the kids to the zoo and they all really had a good time with that! Honestly I think they would have been happy just to set in a room as long as they were together. These cousins are separated by a lot of miles so they are so excited when they get to be together.
Like Mother Like Daughters - There's not much I can say here :) hah!

Both of these girls are needing to slow down and stay little longer!

Mimi and her girls - such pretty faces

Caleb and Reed get along so well. Here Caleb  is reading a book to Reed. They were both so intense on the story.

While Bonnie napped and rested, the other kids spent quiet a bit of time in the pool and I got to take photos :) So we were both doing something we enjoyed.

Spring break was a blast this year and has my mind looking forward to Summer break, sunshine and extra time with these two kids that make my days so full and happy! School has had them long enough. I'm ready to have them to myself and not have to share their time :)
