Batter Batter

Caleb played Fall ball this year. This was his first experience playing organized baseball. With a rocky and discouraging start he struck out at every single practice and his first game. He was so down. But he did not stop trying. We pitched alot of balls out in the yard. And he swung over and over and over. And missed again and again.
But then, during his second game he gave a mighty swing and the ball went soaring to far left field. I wish we had captured it on video because I don't think his feet ever touched the ground until he stopped on third base. And then once he ran into home he celebrated with fist pumps and victorious jumps all the way to the dugout.

And that is how our son became a baseball player. All it took was that one hit. To far left field. That is all he needed. After that, he knew what he was capable of. For the rest of the season he got one great hit after another. Now he can't wait for next season! And neither can I!
