Random Splendor...: Karnes Family Christmas (Part 1) Normal

Happy Saturday! This post is going to be full of photos, so if you get bored looking at them, well, atleast I warned you! First of all let me just say how very much we missed those who weren't able to be at the Karnes family Christmas today. My Memaw Karnes wasn't feeling well enough to come, Ben is off-shore, charming the mermaids somewhere in the waters to the south and April and family live too far away and didn't get to make it this year. That is probably the most of us who have ever had to miss our annual get together :( We were glad though to have our new cousin-in-law, Pierce, Katelin; and for the first time, my mini-me, Ashby. I am trying to get this posted quickly so that those who weren't able to come can see a few scenes from the rowdy day we had.
This year me and my cousin Amber both hit the wonderful milestone of the big 3-0! For as long as I can remember Amber has had very long, straight hair. Today when she walked in we barely recognized her! She cut 12 and a half inches of her hair off and it looks so good! I couldn't believe how much different she looked.
We always have a ton of finger foods that we eat from mid-morning to afternoon and this year was no exception. We learned after arriving that Caleb showed up and for once brought along his appetite. That kid really put away some food. After we stuffed our faces for awhile the kids opened their gifts. Laney soon made a new friend in Pierce, although for Caleb's sake we may forever refer to him as "the boy". This year we started a new tradition of playing dirty Santa for everyone except the little kids. It was fun, although we are already plotting new rules for next year so that people can't make off with the same gifts they brought.
