We are so excited to learn that the new house has more critters (please read that with more than a hint of dripping sarcasm).
One night while we were working after dark at the house, the kids discovered a momma cat and her two kittens. The kittens, who were quickly named Whiskers and Tiger, lucked up in finding our two pet-starved children. They played with the kittens for several hours and when we got ready to leave cried profusely all the way home. They begged and begged to bring the kittens home and ignored me trying to reason that the kittens probably belonged to a neighbor and they would be sad if we took them from their home.
Since that night we have had lots of conversations about pets. So on Saturday, I took Caleb to the pound to just look at pets. I had been trying to talk the kids into a puppy and while Laney was great with that, Caleb was really wanting a cat. (I'm sorry - but I am not a cat fan.)So, we had our special little date and went to the pound. He didn't want to look at the dogs at all and begged to go in the cat room. We went in and he was ALL ABOUT IT!
That is until "Ahh choo"
Yep, after being in the room maybe 60 seconds he began sneezing and scratching his throat saying it felt funny.
So Caleb is allergic to cats
and Laney is allergic to dogs. HMMMMM.....
After all the sneezing Caleb is now convinced a puppy is the way to go.
Now, all we have to do is to find one that is hypoallergenic for Laney and, oh right - convince Daddy! :)
The husband and I have had a couple of pets since we got married, but lets face it. We just are not pet people. We like farm animals like goats and cows, maybe a random Llama (yes we have those too once upon a time). Please don't judge us, but we just don't miss having a pet. Maybe we will get one for the kids so they can experience the whole pet fiasco for themselves, lol, but if not, well - you won't hear me complaining.
